Dr. Qiusheng Wu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography & Sustainability at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK), and an Amazon Scholar. His research interests include Geographic Information Science (GIS), remote sensing, open-source software development, geospatial data science, wetland hydrology, and cloud computing.

He is the creator of several widely used open-source packages for geospatial analysis, including geemap, leafmap, segment-geospatial, and geoai. He is also the founder of the Open Geospatial Solutions GitHub organization. His YouTube channel has over 960 video tutorials with 60K+ subscribers and 2.8M+ views.

Dr. Wu serves as the Director of Graduate Studies in his department and as the Director of TennesseeView, a Tennessee Remote Sensing Consortium. He is a Google Developer Expert (GDE) for Earth Engine and has received numerous awards including the Google Open Source Peer Bonus Award, the International Geospatial Innovation Award from UK Ordnance Survey, and the NASA Early Career Investigator Award.
